What are you putting off until tomorrow?

What are you putting off until tomorrow? What dream do you harbor secretly? In my 20's I wanted to climb Mt. Everest, and although I didn't ever climb Mt. Everest, I did climb Mt. Hood and snowboarded down from near the summit (right below the bergschrund). I watched a skier jump over the bergschrund from the summit; this was completely insane, and I didn't need to prove myself that much, lol. So, I don't have the itch to climb Mt. Everest anymore, although I do enjoy a good book or movie about the quest. But the point is that I climbed a mountain, from the base of the mountain, not from the upper ski lift. I learned how to use an ice axe, most importantly how to do a "self-arrest" if I fell and started sliding. You don't want to slide towards that bergschrund with no way of stopping yourself. After summiting, you're advised to only stay up there for a short period of time. You can imagine how tired your legs might be, and it was a mile down on my snowboard from the Hogsback. My legs were buuurning!!! Jack Kerouac once wrote, “Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that damn mountain.” Your mountain might not be a literal mountain, although it will still require all of your strength to climb. It could be writing a book, starting a business, visiting a particular city or country, it could be learning something new (a new hobby or language), getting out from a bad relationship and starting over, undergoing some kind of personal transformation or deep calling. Climb that damn mountain!!! And if you're not ready to climb it just yet, at least start seriously preparing. At some point, you might regret not having experienced certain things on your list that were near and dear to your heart. For example, I do not want to climb another actual mountain, but I was thankfully able to have that experience and so it's not churning around as a "what if" in my system anymore. I no longer feel hungry for it. (Thank God, because I don't know if I still have that kind of physical stamina! Haha!) There are still big things that I feel hungry for, and I will continue to grow and climb other mountains. What are the mountains you dream of climbing? There was a lot of preparation that went into climbing Mt. Hood. Like most big dreams, climbing a mountain, and then snowboarding down from the top of that mountain, can be entirely unsafe without proper planning. How can you start getting started on one of your big dreams??!!💞
